Interesting article on whether we should be really that surprised that auto-tune was used in the recent X-Factor auditions. I wasn’t watching but saw the clip later. As someone who has been involved in music production, it was achingly obvious and truly disgraceful. What worries me more is those who didn’t notice.
Did the team honestly think they could get away with using auto-tune? I’m genuinely astounded by this; anyone who has heard ‘Believe’ by Cher knows what it sounds like.
No, we’re not surprised but that doesn’t make it ok.
